Malaria, genetic diseases plagued King Tut

Scientists led by Zahi Hawass, Egypt's Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, found that the mummy of King Tutankhamun shows signs of multiple health problems that could have contributed to the boy king's death at an early age. Researchers used anthropological, radiological, and genetic testing to examine Tut and 10 other bodies mummified over a two-year period during Tut's dynasty.
